Invisible Lizard becomes visible ... And teaches us !!!

It happens with all of us. At least once. It must have happened with everyone of us. We have a tendency to forget the things that we have kept just now. We then spend our day (may be the entire day) in search of it. We search for it with all our efforts but we fail to find it and then one day when we don't need that thing we find it. The story that I will narrate to you today has happened with one of my friend. This friend of mine is a senior citizen of India. He lives in the southern part of India. Yesterday he told me a very wonderful incident. After listening to his incident , I thought we can learn something from this incident. I shall narrate to you the incident that he told me.

It so happened that my friend was invited for a function at his relative's place. It was decided that he, his wife and his nephew "Shravan" would go for the function. So as decided, all three got ready for the function and headed towards the car. As they were about to take their seats, my friend's wife noticed a lizard in the car and told him. He pulled out a torch and searched the entire car for the lizard. Even after searching for a long time, the lizard was not found. All his efforts were in vain. Now the question arised , whether they should by car or not as the lizard may still be inside the car. As he had already searched the car entirely and could not find a trace of the reptile, it was assumed that probably the lizard must have left the car and must have wandered somewhere else. So it was decided to go to the function in the car.

All went well. They attended the function and came back. Fortunately the lizard did not pop out. But my friend's nephew, who is a teenager, had a doubt that the lizard is still inside the car. So when they finally returned home and halted their car, the nephew asked the maid to look out for the lizard in the car. He instructed her "Look Jessy, call the lizard sweetly so that it comes out immediately. Don't be angry on it. Be sweet. OK ?" The maid understood what he meant and called out loudly "Shravan, Shravan, Where are you? Please come out. We are waiting for you." On hearing her, all of them burst into laughter. The maid proved herself to be over smart than Shravan. She searched the car once again. But she couldn't locate the reptile. So finally , my friend sprayed HIT inside the car and left the car door open.

After a few days, this friend of mine travelled to Tirupati by car along with his daughter and wife. They were returning back from Tirupati via Bangalore. The car had halted at the signal near Vidhan Soudha in Bangalore when they noticed that the lizard was crawling over the bonnet of the car. All of them were shocked. They saw the reptile crawling with great pride as if it was trying to tell them "See, you could not locate me. I have come out of your car on my own and I will like to get down here in Bangalore." This time my friend had a bamboo stick in the car. So the car driver stepped out of the car and put off the lizard with that bamboo stick. The lizard happily crawled through the street of Bangalore and bade them "Good-Bye". The lizard had a free trip from his house till Bangalore. It popped out only when the car arrived at Bangalore.

After listening to this story, I felt that everything in this world has a pre-determined destiny and God has made a perfect destiny for each one of us. Look at us,we participate in a race everyday, where-in everyday we are under some or the other sort of tension and worried about things. We don't enjoy our life to its fullest. Look at this lizard. The reptile enjoyed its journey in the car. It just got in the car. Enjoyed the trip. And got down in Bangalore. It enjoyed its time from the time it got into the car till the time it stepped out of the car. Our life is also the same. We have already stepped into the train that runs everyday at full speed. And one day we will leave this train. But before we step down from this train, let us enjoy the journey. Let us not take it very seriously. Let us enjoy its fragrance and warmth before we feel that we did not do anything in this precious journey. Our journey should be like that of the lizard. It had come out on the bonnet of the car on its own. Now it wanted to step out of the car. We should also be able to step out of our train that we are travelling in very easily. without leaving behind any regrets in our life. So lets start it from today. Let's welcome each other to this tour called LIFE. Let's spend our day exploring what this train has for us. Let's make it a great tour !!! Happy Touring!!!

What is this loneliness ya?

Yesterday, one of my friend (not in touch with me for many days) called me up and said “ Geeta , I am feeling lonely. I am feeling very alone. Tell me what should I do?” I just gave a simple answer.”Go and make friends. You won’t feel lonely then.” Then I sat back and recalled my thoughts about loneliness which I also had experienced. I thought I should write about it today.

When I look back and recall my childhood, I always feel good about it. I know you also feel the same. When we are born, our parents rejoice and celebrate the day. They start taking care of us, loving us and giving us all that we need. As an infant we make them our best friend. They understand all that we have to say. They understand what it means when we smile and what it means when we cry.

Eventually , we start growing and we realize that apart from parents I can have others as well in my life to share my feelings, my thoughts, my happiness and my sorrow (May be even more). That is when we start making friends. We live our childhood with them. We share our secrets with them.We make them a part of our life. We laugh with them, cry with them, dine with them and hang out with them. We enjoy being with them. Don’t we? We enjoy our life!!! I have enjoyed. I know you also must have enjoyed.

Our friends are there with us in our school, in our college, in our graduation and even post graduation. We finish our schooling, graduation, post graduation enjoying our days with our friends.

And then there comes a day when we feel that we should get married now. We marry. We start living a different life. The day we marry we believe that our spouse will be our next best friend. Now we start forgetting our friends and being in touch with them. Boys have a different life to lead. So they cherish their life with both, their friends as well as their wife. But for a girl, life is different. She has changed everything, right from her name to her definition about her happiness. She engages herself with her new family, her spouse and remains happy. But one day, her spouse leaves her and goes off to another country, maybe for years, for his work. Or may be he engages himself too much with his office work and becomes a workaholic. At that time she starts feeling lonely and unhappy. She does not understand what to do? She makes efforts to keep herself happy but all in vain until one day she looks back and realizes the mistake she made. She had forgotten her friends. She never cared for them and had put them off her life.

Now she realizes what it means to be lonely. She realizes how difficult it is to stay lonely and how unhappy one can be when one feels lonely. I have experienced this feeling and therefore I could tell my friend who called me "Go and make friends." Loneliness pains. It pains a lot. So my friends, especially girls, don't forget yourself after marriage. Try to get in touch with your friends. Make real good friends. Nowadays, technology has become so advanced that you can find your friend by using it. A simple SMS may bring them back to you and you may start living your childhood again.

You won’t realize their worth until you yourself feel lonely. And the day you feel lonely, you will remember them and cry. So, let's not cry and feel lonely, let's get them back and make them a part of our life. Happy Friending!!!

The Rule of Nature

Long time back , about five years ago , I had written a poem on "The Rule of Nature". This poem came about in my mind as I was thinking how nature is , how it controls us and how we should tune ourselves to its rule so that we remain happy.

It was the time when Mumbai was flooded. Mother nature had showered too much on the Mumbaikar's at that time. The newspapers and the websites were full of photos showing how people got stuck in their offices and how flood made their life take a different path.

At that time , a few thoughts came to my mind. I wrote them on a piece of paper and a beautiful poem was formed . I would like to put it across to all of you through this medium of blog.

The poem is titled "The Rule of Nature" . It goes like this.

"The Rule of Nature"

In this world of technology,
Gone are the days,
Of letters and telegrams,
Emails and chats are the buzz words today.

In this world of technolgy,
Gone are the days,
Of 8 * 6
24 * 7 is the need today.

In this world of technology,
Gone are the days,
Of Paper and Pen.
MS-Office is the tool today.

In this world of technology,
Everything has changed,
Everything is changing,
Everything will change.

No matter how rapidly,
This world changes,
One thing remains unchanged,
"The Rule of Nature" , "The Rule of Nature".
